Privacy Policy

mineos.net is a small open-source community project. This page explains what the website (mineos.net) and the MineOS server manager send to us, what we use it for, and how to have it removed. We don't sell personal data and we don't run advertising or third-party analytics.
Signing in with Google
If you sign in, Google shares your Google account ID, email address, name and profile picture URL with us. We store these to keep you signed in, show your profile, and link your MineOS installations to your account. We also record when your account was created and when you last signed in. Sign-in uses a session cookie that expires after 24 hours.
Emails
Newsletters and update alerts are off unless you turn them on in your profile. If you opt in, we use your email address to send them through our email provider, Resend. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can turn either list off in your profile at any time.
Contact form
Messages sent through the contact form, including the name and email address you enter, are emailed to us so we can reply. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile.
MineOS telemetry
The MineOS server manager sends anonymous usage telemetry to mineos.net by default. Each installation is identified by a random ID that is not tied to you unless you link the installation to your account. Telemetry includes:
- coarse location (country and region), operating system and version, CPU architecture and locale;
- MineOS version, install method, install success or failure and any install error message;
- hardware and environment details: CPU cores, memory, disk size, Java version and container engine;
- usage counts: number of servers and users, uptime, commands run, server types, backup counts and feature usage;
- one-way hashes of MineOS usernames, used only to count distinct users;
- lifecycle events such as start-up, crash and uninstall.
We use telemetry to understand how MineOS is used and to find bugs. To turn it off, set MINEOS_TELEMETRY_ENABLED=false in your MineOS environment.
Service providers
The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests and stores our database. Google handles sign-in and Resend delivers email. Each acts only on our behalf.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep account data until you ask us to delete it, and telemetry for as long as it's useful for spotting trends. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or have your account or an installation's telemetry deleted, email [email protected]. Include the installation ID for telemetry requests. We'll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
